Terms of Use
These terms apply to everyone who creates an account on Excel in Exam or uses materials generated by the platform.
Last updated 20 August 2026
1. Agreement to these terms
By creating an account or using Excel in Exam you agree to these Terms of Use. If you are using the platform on behalf of a school or organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.
We may update these terms as the platform develops. Material changes will be announced on this page and, where the change affects paid plans, by email before it takes effect.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate registration details and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.
Accounts are personal. Teacher and school plans may include multiple named seats; sharing a single login across a department is not permitted.
3. Licence to use generated materials
Worksheets, mark schemes, figures and papers generated by the platform are licensed to you for teaching, learning and assessment within your own class, tutoring practice or study.
You may print and distribute generated materials to your own students. You may not resell them, publish them as a commercial resource, or upload them to a third-party resource marketplace.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or programmatically bulk-extract the generation engine, its question models or its mark schemes.
Automated access outside the interfaces we provide, attempts to bypass usage quotas, and any activity that degrades service for other users are prohibited.
5. Plans, quotas and payment
Free and paid plans carry monthly generation quotas which are displayed in the interface before you generate. Quotas reset at the start of each billing period.
Paid plans renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Prices are shown inclusive of applicable taxes where required.
6. Intellectual property
The platform, its design, the generation engine and all underlying models remain the property of Excel in Exam and its licensors.
Syllabus codes, objective titles and board names are the property of their respective examination boards. Excel in Exam is an independent provider and is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or operated by any examination board.
7. Availability and accuracy
Every generated question passes automated mathematical validation before it is shown. Even so, materials are provided for practice and you remain responsible for reviewing anything you issue to students for assessment.
We aim for continuous availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance will be announced in advance where practical.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Excel in Exam is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of grades, opportunity or data, arising from use of the platform.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
On termination, your licence to use generated materials already downloaded continues for your own teaching or study; access to the platform and stored library items ends.
